The organizations listed here all have web
sites that offer services to parents of missing and abducted children.
The services may very based on the size and resources of the organizations.
Many of the sites handle just stranger abducted children. Some do safety
and prevention while others do just photo distribution. Many of the organizations
listed here handle all five categories of missing and abducted children
recognized by the NCMEC, i.e.; stranger abductions, family abductions,
runaways, lost injured or other wise missing and throwaways.
Some of the sites may not have non-profit
status but their determination and dedication to the families of missing
and abducted children should not be ignored. The Committee for Missing
Children does not endorse one organization over another and is not responsible
for the content of the individual web sites. Each parent should contact
the organization they wish to deal with either by phone or e-mail if available.
Most of these organizations are listed under the state in which they are incorporated:
Child
Abduction Resource Center: This site is a listing of "Global resources,
information and news for parents of missing and abducted children".
Has a very nice section on U.S. organizations, International organizations
and the "legal aspects of child abduction".
