International Child Abduction

ARTICLES
This chapter deals with articles that have been written on the subject of missing and abducted children. Articles from Insight Magazines, Readers Digest and America's Most Wanted are included. New articles will be added as we get permission to reprint them.

HANDBOOK/REFERENCE GUIDES
We are in the process of producing two handbooks/reference guides for the United States and Europe. These guides are being produced with the help of dedicated parents and professionals throughout the world.

MANUALS AND GUIDES
Over the last several years, many organizations and government agencies have developed manuals and guides that deal with missing and abducted children. As we find them we will list them here. We hope that the information will be helpful in the recovery and return of all the missing and abducted children.

PARENT ALIENATION SYNDROME
Many parents who abduct their children will try to alienate the left behind parent through a systematic "brain washing" of the children. The abducting parent turns the children against the left behind parent. This "brain washing" makes it harder for the children and the left behind parent to get back together after the children have been recovered.

PARENTS' PERSONAL SITES
This chapter will link you to many of the sites that parents have developed to honor their missing and abducted children, and will offer information and pictures that may help in the locating and recovery of their chldren. These are very personal sites and we list them on our site as our way of assisting these parents. Please feel free to download pictures and distribute them thoughout your neighborhoods.

REPORTS AND OTHER GOOD THINGS TO READ
Papers and reports of interest to all who deal with missing and abducted children. If it is of interest, you will find it here. We welcome anyone to submit his or her writings for inclusion in this section. Education and knowledge are two steps in solving the problem of child abduction.

RESOURCES
All of the organizations and agencies listed here are involved with missing, abducted or exploited children. It is important that you know how each works and how they can assist you in the recovery of your child(ren).

STATISTICS
Who's missing? Who's been abducted? How do we know who will abduct? What do we know about abductors? How are missing and abducted children identified, and who is privy to this information? These are tough questions, and the answers are hard to come by. As we get good, reliable information about the statistics of child abduction, we will publish them here.
